What is Fractional Laser?

The fractional laser, by definition, is controlled by a computer, allowing the laser to shoot many points and discharge the "array" shaped laser. It is completed by a conventional cutting laser plus a complex matrix control system.

Fractional lasers were first produced from CO2 lasers, and gradually expanded their presence. Now there are many more options available, including 1550, 1927, 2940, 10600nm and other wavelengths

They all belong to the infrared laser, and the most common is the CO2 Fractional Laser, which belongs to the exfoliation laser.

The target tissue absorbed by the fractional laser is mainly the water molecules in the skin.

Exfoliation or non exfoliation?

Is there a clear boundary between exfoliation and non-exfoliation? In fact, this is not an absolute term. If the non-exfoliation laser works long enough time on the skin, it will also produce an exfoliative effect.

However, due to the relatively high water absorption rate at 2940 and 10600 nm, and the short-term effect on the skin, it is easy to produce the effect of exfoliation and vaporization, so we usually define two as the exfoliation laser;

The water absorption rate of 1550 and 1927 is relatively low. Most of them are used on non-exfoliating skin rejuvenation, and are not likely to off scab. They are also classified as [non-exfoliation" or [micro exfoliation".

The CO2 laser has a long history, the price is relatively cheap and stable, and has extremely high popularity. More importantly, it has multiple functions. Common treatment head include:

1) Scanning treatment head;

2) Cutting and vaporizing cutter heads;

3) (Optional) vaginal tightening treatment head;

In contrast to other infrared lasers, other treatment heads are still rare, except the scanning treatment head.

Main Precaution during Treatment

1. Because of the exfoliation effect, the skin is easily stained after treatment; strong repairs are performed before and after treatment, and the skin can be cooled during treatment to prevent inflammation from continuing;

2. Photosensitivity may occur, such as acne outbreak or allergies like urticaria, this is normal, don`t worry

3. If it is an exfoliation treatment (whole face skin resurfacing), please try to delay the time for scab off, ask customers not to pull out the newborn crust by themselves, otherwise prone to pigmentation and facial skin sensitivity.
