Prevention and response to allergy in beauty treatment

With the continuous improvement of people's living standards, everyone's awareness of skin care and beauty is getting stronger and stronger, and various skin care and beauty treatments are gradually becoming popular. But in daily life, we find that many people's skin is in an intolerant and easily allergic state. During this period, a large number of female friends developed treatment intolerance, facial flushing, dry itching, redness, and acne-like allergies.

Allergy after laser / AHA treatment

The beauty laser has strong energy, and it must have certain damage and stimulation to the skin during the process of illuminating the skin. Therefore, laser treatment itself can easily cause strong discomfort to the skin, cause an immune reaction, and make the skin allergic.

Women who often wear makeup, as various external factors have long been acting on the face, which has put the skin on the edge of a more sensitive intolerance state; once it is subjected to laser stimulation, without any pre-order repair and appeasement, it is easy to change from a hapten to a sensitizing antigen, thereby inducing an allergic reaction, urticaria, and acne-like allergies.

This allergic reaction is related to the intensity and wavelength of the laser treatment. According to our observations, for damaged (invasive) lasers, the treatment of cyanotic oozing end point response is the most common allergic reaction; for weaker stimuli, not break skin and not bleed treatment, the probability of allergies is lower.

CO2 Fractional Laser, Q-switched laser is prone to allergies, followed by IPL strong pulsed light;

Invisible laser (1927nm long pulse infrared laser), the probability of allergies is low;

Similarly, exfoliative or micro-exfoliation-type AHA treatment, because of the larger area of action, it is also more irritating, the incidence of allergies, redness and itching is similar to the above situation.

Allergies after replacing cosmetics or repairing products

After receiving a cosmetic treatment consultation, the client may generally stop using the cosmetics at home according to your diagnosis and start using new skin care and repair products. Allergies are very common during this time.

When changing Skin care products, the skin has an adaptation process. If the customer does not use cosmetics, or if the skin and body condition are better, then allergies are rare: for example, male customers; if the skin condition is as discussed later, it is prone to allergies.

The allergic cause of skin care replacement is mainly due to the lack of skin or the addition of certain exogenous ingredients to the hypersensitivity reaction made by the immune system. For example, if you use a certain series of cosmetics for a long time, your skin will often absorb and adapt to the various ingredients provided in this cosmetic, both the nutrients needed by the skin and the unsuitable ingredients that the skin must tolerate; Over time, the skin gradually adapts to these components; the skin is an adaptive system, and when you frequently provide specific "nutrient" to the skin, the skin weakens the ability to self-produce them; the skin is daily In the habit of waiting for exogenous supplements, today after you change Skin Care Products, the skin suddenly "discovered" that it can not find such nutrients, and there may be some new intolerant ingredients, its original established metabolism balance is likely to break, and with some other incentives, an allergic reaction occurs.

Therefore, not only drugs, but in a broad sense, we may have a dependence on the long-term use of any nutrients. With dependence, there is an abstinence response: allergies are one of them.

Allergies caused by overuse of the repair product

Another type is caused by excessive use of skin care products after laser treatment. Any repair product has an effective component, and the process of skin absorption and metabolism also has a certain ability limit. We often say that we need to use a lot of skin care products after treatment, but we also found that after laser treatment, some customers use high doses and use them infinitely to induce skin allergies.

Many people have questions: Many people say that you need a lot of repair after laser/AHA treatment.

In fact, as long as you follow the basic scientific logic, you will understand it. We are sick and take medicine, there must be a dose. We can't eat it indefinitely. Even if it is a nutrient, it can't be over-ingested. The skin is the same, proper nutrition and repair are necessary, but continuous, excessive repair of nutrients, skin absorption and metabolism can not be lost, pharmacokinetics tells us that the body may appear rejection, the immune system starts, it will appear allergic reactions.

Who/what situation is prone to allergies?

Allergies are not absolutely predictable. We can't stop allergies, or even know exactly when and what customers will get allergic. But in general, there are still some rules to follow.

First of all, we must closely observe the customer's skin, physical health, but also ask the customer's life, medical history and daily skin care characteristics. Here are some of the characteristics of people who are allergic:

1. The skin cuticle is weak;

2. skin is dry;

3. long-term use of a variety of cosmetics, especially concealer cosmetics;

4. poor physical/spiritual condition and thin body;

5. have a family history of allergies;

This type of person receives laser treatment, and the probability of allergies is higher after replacing cosmetics/skin care products. In addition, in any of the above cases, and female friends aged 35-50 years, the probability of allergy to laser treatment is higher.

How to prevent to reduce the incidence of allergies?

1. The skin is repaired in advance, mainly for moisturizing and hydrating work. Provide customers with hyaluronic acid-based repair products; before laser treatment, customers should use hyaluronic acid-based products two weeks in advance, and appropriately increase the collagen coating to rebuild the stratum corneum. If it is not enough for long-term prevention, at least 30 minutes before laser treatment, increasing the water content and tolerance of the skin, this has been proven to improve treatment comfort and reduce the probability of allergies.

2. Avoid high-energy laser treatment from the beginning; no matter which kind of laser (and IPL), if the energy is too high during the first treatment of the customer, even if there is no allergies within a few hours after treatment, it may be allergies occurred 48 hours later.

3. If possible, start with a long-pulse infrared laser to establish the skin tolerance of the customer and stimulate the growth of the skin. Before the next laser treatment, use the repair products of the above components, and the growth factor to strengthen the skin. Then do fractional laser or Q-switched laser treatment.

4. Avoid using Q-switched laser treatment at the beginning, and the effect of blasting effect of Q-switching on the microstructure is more significant than according to the observation of the IPL photothermal effect. As allergies are divided into two types: rapid and delayed, you can first test the spot on the inside of the client's arm, and observe the abnormal redness and swelling after half an hour before performing facial treatment.

5. All the repair products, the basic part of the moisturizing, hydrating as the first priority. The three major components of repair are hyaluronic acid + collagen + growth factor; then using jojoba oil (containing squalene and tocopherol, etc.), and then gradually using ceramide, are repairing the sebum membrane, establishing the stratum corneum barrier function and lock water. In a highly destructive environment such as fractional laser, it is easier to achieve a strong hydration effect by using a high water content hydrogel mask.

6. Reasonably control the dosage. It has been explained just now that the importance of rational drug use is repaired. After laser treatment, repair according to the degree of skin damage caused by laser stimulation. In the most critical period after treatment, the general repair dose, it is recommended that you do not exceed 3-5 times the recommended dose of the manufacturer, so that the skin has a metabolic adaptation process after reasonable absorption.

7. Repair products using simple ingredients. Note that after treatment, never use any so-called [Chinese medicine mask". The more complex the ingredients, the higher the probability of allergies. We simply used the products containing hyaluronic acid, type I, III collagen, bFGF, EGF, and KGF for initial repair. And it should be based on water and gel.

8. Finally, grease packet, mainly jojoba oil. This process is an important means to reduce the loss of transepidermal water; it can effectively inhibit inflammatory reactions and vasodilation, and prevent allergies.

In the process of replacing the cosmetic/repair product, the concentration and frequency of use should be appropriately reduced in the early stage, and hyaluronic acid should be used as the guiding neutralizing agent. We also need to understand the composition of certain products that have been used for a long time; during the replacement process, by reducing the original dosage form, and then gradually adapting the skin to the new dosage form, natural transition, avoid sudden allergic reactions

How to deal with allergic reactions?

When an allergic reaction occurs, we need to know how to deal with it. In the beauty industry, we also need to know what circumstances, we must let customers go to the hospital for treatment and timely treatment. Skin allergies, the condition is generally "redness and heat itching", feeling dry, and some have symptoms such as hemorrhoids.

In extreme cases, severe allergies can also cause large areas of skin irritation, papules, and if there is laryngeal edema, it may even be life-threatening.

1) Cold spray, cold compress, wet compress. The skin is cooled down, the blood vessels are converged, and the client's facial congestion and edema are reduced, which makes them feel comfortable;

2) Oral loratadine, cetirizine, an antihistamine preparation; supplemented with vitamin C, calcium tablets, etc., to suppress allergies and relieve symptoms;

3) External use of hyaluronic acid to lock moisture, use jojoba oil to smear, seal, reduce the loss of transepidermal water after skin barrier damage, reduce the symptoms of dry itching, and also help to shrink blood vessels and fight inflammation;

4) If there is a serious allergic reaction, systemic redness, edema, this time there may be respiratory tract, esophage and other organs appear mucosal tissue edema, causing shortness of breath, pale, heartbeat and other symptoms, it is necessary to let the customer go to the hospital immediately. Intravenous infusion of related drugs (dexamethasone, calcium gluconate, vitamin C, B, etc.) in the hospital, must not delay the disease! Otherwise harm others.

5) Some allergic reactions are manifested as "bursts" and acne. In this case, under the premise of moisturizing and water-blocking, after 48 hours, red-blue yellow light (580 nm) or red light (635 nm) is used to assist a high water content hydrogel mask. If there is no that mask, hyaluronic acid is given during the irradiation. Spray the product to maintain a wet water-tight environment. Then try to use long pulse light ( erbiun laser, IPL, etc.) for treatment. In general, photoallergies are transient, and after a period of repair, laser treatment will not be allergic.

6) Repair product allergy: First stop the repair product, followed by mild moisturizing products such as hyaluronic acid. Then gradually figure out what the allergen is. Other processing methods are handled with reference to the above described process.

7) Auxiliary topical glucocorticoid drugs. Mometasone furoate, hydrocortisone butyrate, moderately applied to the affected area, can effectively fight inflammation, shrink blood vessels, inhibit allergies and itching, but this application involves drugs and requires medical advice.

8) Avoid drinking alcohol in daily life, high protein and other diets that are easy to promote allergies.
